Programme Note
I first met Richard Thurlby through a friend while he was studying at the University of Melbourne. We became good friends (sharing a heightened sense of the ridiculous) and I wrote this sonata for him on a Wednesday morning for an ABC recording, shortly before he left for the U.K.
