Programme Note
Prism - Photonic Constructions II is the second work in the cycle, which deals with the theme of light.
The principle of rhythmised vibrato for the tonal representation of the sine waves as well as continuing micro-patterns seemed to me to be ideally realisable with the possibilities of a symphonic wind orchestra. Strongly influenced by electronic music, sound structures develop from the smallest cells. The music forms asymmetrically, while individual notes unfold in space according to the principles of synthetic composition.
The trio plays an independent role here. It is an independent sound installation that is projected into the wind clusters and thus forms "a music within the music". The juxtaposition of a large wind orchestra and an amplified trio was inspired by an exhibition by the artist George Rousse at Maison Européenne de la Photographie in Paris.
