In the Name of the Holocaust (1942)

This work was originally used as music for the eponymous choreographed piece by Merce Cunningham. The title refers to the atrocities of World War II, but it also derives from the words 'Holy Ghost', referring to James Joyce. The music is bitter and gloomy, as might be expected.
