Programme Note
Do you know the feeling of holding your breath underwater? That's exactly what my work sparks, waves & horizons for large orchestra, composed in 2019-21, is about. Although the three elements are captured musically, my piece is not about a program. It is much more about the energy that is contained in these moments. The energy that you feel when you look at a spark, a wave or the horizon. The wave that is set in motion solely by a brief moment of leaking energy or the supposed stillness that does not reveal the exciting inner life of the horizon.
