Programme Note

E2 is a compositional journey between sound and time levels in the innermost. It is therefore about the unfolding of different categories of energies (E) through the structural movements between the harmonic, inharmonic sound levels on the one hand and on the other hand between the metric, rhythmic, chronometric, morphological time levels.

The sound and time developments fragment the formal palindrome between the cello and the double bass. Only ruins remain in E2, shadows of it.

Allegorically and typologically, it refers to the disappearance of Jesus of Nazareth during the Noli me tagere episode (John 20:17) and during the Last Supper at Emmaus (Luke 24:30-31).
