Materie (2018)
(for violin solo)

Materie for solo violin is composed as an obligatory piece for the Kuopio 2020 Violin Competition.

Throughout the composing process I was fascinated by the idea that the musical material of the piece would require both virtuosity and rhythmic control from the player, but at the same time also offering the opportunity to express subtlety and depth of sound.
