The "clear water" of the title refers to the once-pristine waters of the Baltic Sea, off the coast of composer Erkki-Sven Tüür's native Estonia. The stygian blur of instrumental sonorities is offset by a propulsive percussion part that hints at Tüür's own rock roots."
