Aucoin's 'Merrill Songs' was originally commissioned by Carnegie Hall and Wigmore Hall. The World Premiere of 'A Downward Look,' 'The Kimono,' 'Grass,' 'Last Words,' 'Sonnet from Sandover,' and 'An Upward Look' was given by Paul Appleby and Matthew Aucoin in Zankel Hall on March 16, 2016. The World Premiere of 'Tony: Ending the Life' was given by Sean Christensen and Matthew Aucoin at the Peabody Essex Museum on September 29, 2016. This arrangement of 'Tony: Ending the Life,' called E'xodos for Tony,' was created for the Boston Modern Orchestra Project, Gil Rose, Artistic Director.
