This work was commissioned by Australian clarinettist Ruth Bonetti. It is a sister piece to the Oboe Sonatina written for Janet Craxton.
The Sonatina is in three brief movements, the aim of which is to provide tuneful, challenging and descriptive music which is immediately accessible.
