Programme Note

Jabès’s language, which consists of recurrence, elision, iteration and brevity, holds within itself a poetic music whose sound projection had to be both light and extreme and as explicit as it was translucent : the texts had to hide from our eyes and ears and their denotative meaning could only be transcended after being concealed behind the wall of sounds they suggest. By getting far from the poem’s linguistic prosody so as to immerse it into an unexpected environment - generating new outlines and benefitting from the strangeness of the newly found qualities - we achieve a distorted use of the instrumental sound production and therefore obtain a new diction of the poetic content.
