Programme Note
Star Falling, a contemplative miniature for piano, was written in 2004. Penned and sent as a gift in an attempt to stop a partner from leaving me, this little piece did not have its desired effect (which in retrospect wasn't such a disaster). It is a simple, calm reflection on some of the lines in Else Lasker-Shuler's poem Reconciliation, and was written purely intuitively in a matter of hours.

"Frances-Hoad‘s contemplative miniature Star Falling is a calm reflection on lines from Else Lasker-Shuler’s poem Reconciliation. Delicate and expressive, with shimmers of star light..."
