        Programme Note

        Glamour Sleeper is not a concept piece. It simply is itself, though the title hints at many possible meanings that are related to the splintered, festering material of the piece. I thought of each germ of material as being like a little sleeper cell waiting to erupt. Many small ensembles have asked to play this piece and so I’ve ended up making a number of re-instrumentations to suit forces at hand. Version I is for clarinet, percussion, violin, double bass and soundtrack. Version II, which I originally made for the German group Ensemble Intégrales, is for clarinet or alto sax, percussion, prepared piano, violin and soundtrack.
