Aulis Sallinen’s String Quartet No 6 was commissioned by the Kimito Island Music Festival. The first performance took place on 8th of July 2014 in Kimito Church, the opening concert in the Kimito Island Music Festival 2014. The performers were:
Katinka Korkeala and Sonja Korkeala, violins, Hariolf Schlichtig, viola, and Samuli Peltonen, cello
