Programme Note

Jacob Gade's Jalousie (Tango Tsigane) or as it is more better known, Tango Jalousie, is one of the most widely performed pieces ever written by a Danish composer. Originally composed in 1925 as part of the score for the silent film Don Q, Son of Zorro, the piece soon took on a life of its own and became a global hit.

Over the years, Tango Jalousie has been arranged for countless instrumentations. From the most famous version for solo violin and piano, to versions for guitar, flute, solo or duo piano to percussion ensemble and wind groups.
