        Programme Note

        Jubilation comes from the first movement of Symphony 1997 (Heaven Earth Mankind). Following the Chinese New Year dragon dance, in Jubilation strands of Beethoven's "Ode to Joy" and a raucous Chinese folksong gradually blend into a collage of celebratory songs and traditions.
