Programme Note

A wedding anthem. Text from Psalm 128.

How blest are they that fear the Lord and walk in his way.
For thou shalt eat the labour of thine hands:
O well is thee, and happy shalt thou be.
Thy wife shall be the fruitful vine on the walls of thy house:
Thy children live like the olive branches growing round about thy table.
Lo, thus shall the man be blest that feareth the Lord.
The Lord of hosts from out of his house shall so bless thy sight,
That thou shall see Jerusalem in peace and prosperity all thy life long.
Yea, thou shalt see thy children's child and the fruit of thy womb and peace upon Israel.
