Finally, there's the PIANO CONCERTO. [With] some jazzy (or bluesy) thematic material...this piece [shows] Schuman's idiom, at least to the extent that it opposes distinct blocks of sound, relies on instrumental color to maintain polyphonic clarity [with] the use of a chamber orchestra for the accompaniment.
