In the village. The bride is being dressed by her girl friends.
I. The arrival of the wedding-guests
Din of carriages and cracking of whips.
II. The bridal procession
A fanfare announces the proceeding to the church. The bridal couple enters the church while young people at the entrance are singing.
III. The wedding-feast
After the wedding ceremony. The dinner is at an end and all are in high spirits. People are dancing in the flower-covered barn. Bride and bridegroom alone are dancing the bridal waltzer.
IV. Finale.
It is now late. High spirits everywhere. The cock-crow announces the dawning of the day.
