        Programme Note

        Canon and Chorale progresses at the overall level from a series of motorically oriented canonic statements towards a calm final chorale. But fragments of the final chorale have already been spliced into the process in several tempo layers from the beginning. This "montage" technique articulates, almost like a template. a form which by means of contrapuntal juxtapositions of time segments permits the derivation of a kind of synthesis - either composed out or (hopefully) taking place somewhere between the ears of the listener.
