Programme Note

Two kinds of music - derived from similar tonal segments - meet and separate. A relatively dynamic gestural activity on the guitar and flute is overlapped and eventually quite superseded by the calm, simple, banale music of the harp and soprano. Ever since the beginning of the 1960s, it has been a matter of great importance to me to be able to accept that extreme simplicity was within reach. Otherwise there is layer upon layer of complexity under the surface of the simple.
