Programme Note

TRICOLORRE no. 1, 3 and 4 (no.2 was never completed) radically simplify musical expression - to a point where the music approaches non-music. What you hear is sculpture in sound, inspired by Americal minimal art as exemplified by Robert Morris, among others. You fill find no trace of the pulsation so typical of the musical minimalism.
In each TRICOLORE three large sound blocks move slowly - at times excessively slowly - around each other, interchanging, overshadowing or highlighting each other. In no.1 and 3 the dimension of time is shaped according to the numeric sequence of Fibonacci: 1-12-3-5-8-13-21 etc., and arranged in hierarchic system constantly producing proportions coming very closer to the Golden Section.
