Programme Note

The title Double Concerto is used for this piece not primarily because it employs two solo-instruments, but because it has two big movements designed as two wings of the same edifice.
The first, Time Prensent, attempts to create the illusion of a music becoming faster and faster, unendingly. The second, Time Past attempts the opposite illusion: music approaching standstill.
