Programme Note
An Orkney Tune is a brief piano solo aimed at young performers. It is reminiscent of the first piece in the Six Secret Songs for piano, it consists of a slow melody, with a distinct Orcadian rhythmic and melodic feel, presented over a simple bass. It makes a wonderful choice for a recital or lesson piece.
