Programme Note

Omega was designed as a virtuoso piece to end a recital. It is characterised by rapid movement interrupted by full chords. In shape, Omega is a gradual descent from the highest registers of the organ down to the lowest. It explores some of the colouristic and acoustic properties peculiar to the organ: this can be most easily heard in the slower ideas in the piece.

Omega lasts about six minutes and was composed for Robert Munns.
