Doblinger

Doblinger Music Publishing has been one of Austria's leading music publishers since 1876. Over the 150 years of its history, it has been an important part of Vienna, a city of music, and, together with the works of its composers, arrangers, and editors, has also been a musical ambassador throughout the world. Wise Music Group acquired this significant repertoire in 2025.
From the very beginning, the publishing house's repertoire has been developed and expanded across several genres. These include, for example, dance music by Carl Michael Ziehrer, operettas by Franz Lehár and Oscar Straus, and Viennese songs by Hermann Leopoldi. In the area of classical music, this includes concert music by greats such as Anton Bruckner and Gustav Mahler, as well as works by contemporary composers after 1900, such as Alexander Zemlinsky and Ernst von Dohnányi.
Starting in the 1950s, the sales repertoire has expanded to approximately 20,000 titles through numerous printed music series. One of the most important series, Diletto Musicale, contains over 1,500 works ranging from early Baroque music to works of the Strauss dynasty. By offering an impressively wide range of music for almost all instruments, the pedagogical and performance literature has become a key pillar of the publishing program.
A particular focus was the revival of Jewish composers who had been forced into exile. Works by Marcel Rubin, Egon Wellesz, Erich Zeisl, and Walter Arlen testify to these efforts. In particular, the instrumental works and songs of Walter Kaufmann and the operettas and concert pieces of Joseph Beer have since been revived in the music world. Other important names in the publishing program include Friedrich Cerha, Gottfried von Einem, Ivan Eröd, Jenö Takacs, Alfred Uhl, and Erich Urbanner. The younger generation of composers, such as Peter Androsch, Roland Batik, José Cura, Bernd Richard Deutsch, Gerald Resch, Shih, Tomasz Skweres, Wolfram Wagner, Gernot Wolfgang, and many others, are complemented by female composers such as Johanna Doderer, Flora Geisselbrecht, and Tanja Elisa Glinsner. With Ancora Publishing Service as partner for music printing and distribution, the Peters lending library in Leipzig as provider of the rental material, and the Bosworth Music publishing offices in Berlin and Vienna for rights management and administration, Doblinger's musical repertoire is successfully continued.
