The centerpiece of this year's Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival will be the world premiere of a new Violin Concerto by Michael Nyman. This work was commissioned by the festival, and will be performed in Hamburg by Gidon Kremer, the Schleswig-Holstein Musik Festival Orchestra and Dennis Russell Davies on 29 August. In addition, the Michael Nyman Band will play Man with a Movie Camera and The Commissar Vanishes on 24 August. Other performances of Music Sales works include Concerto for Ten Brass Players by Richard Rodney Bennett with London Brass on 8, 9 and 10 August, and Lilith by Simon Holt with the London Sinfonietta on 27 August.
