The composer Bent Lorentzen has written both music and libretto for the first chamber opera composed especially for Takkelloftet. Bent Lorentzen has brought the story up to date and the plot is played out in a present-day environment. The orchestra of eight musicians is conducted by Frans Rasmussen, and Joachim Knop sings the role of Cain. The production will play until 23rd September 2006 – see www.kglteater.dk for exact dates and times and ticket sales. Moreover, 30th November 2006 sees the premiere of Bent Lorentzen’s work Tivoli for accordion and orchestra in the Carl Nielsen Hall, Odense Concert Hall. The piece is dedicated to the accordionist Branco Djordevic, who is also the soloist in the premiere, and to the Odense Symphony Orchestra. You can read more about Bent Lorentzen at this website.
