Gian Carlo Menotti’s beloved Christmas opera, Amahl and the Night Visitors, continues to enrapture and inspire. This year alone, the work receives over 250 performances worldwide. The Orquestra Municipal de Valencia (Spain), the Singapore Lyric Opera, and the Cantando Choir of Wellington (Australia), are just a few of the performing ensembles who will bring Menotti’s classic tale to life throughout this holiday season.
A milestone for composer and opera will occur in 2011 when Menotti turns 100 and Amahl turns 60.
