Havas investiture

Bosworth author Kató Havas received her OBE on 10th October from HRH The Prince of Wales at Buckingham Palace, mentioned in the The Queen’s Birthday Honours List as “teacher of violin and viola, for services to music”.

Her books A New Approach to Violin Playing (BOE004558) Stage Fright, its Caused and Cures (BOE004556) and The Twelve Lesson Course (BOE004557) have so far been translated into Czech, French, German, Hungarian, Italian, Japanese, Mandarin Chinese, Spanish and Swedish. Miss Havas, who studied under Imre Waldbauer at the Budapest Music Academy, gave her debut recital at Carnegie Hall when she was 17. She has been resident in Britain since the 1950s.
