Chester Music extends relationship with Sir John Tavener

Chester Music has recently signed a new long-term agreement with Sir John Tavener, thereby extending its 30-year, exclusive publishing relationship with the composer. This relationship began with the premiere of The Whale at the London Sinfonietta’s inaugural concert in 1968 and now looks ahead to the premiere of the seven-hour all-night vigil, VEIL OF THE TEMPLE, in June 2003, to new recordings (including The Bridegroom on Anonymous 4’s new album and Ikon of Eros, the Minnesota Orchestra’s commission being premiered in November, on Telarc) and also to several new works in the year of Sir John’s 60th birthday in 2004.
