Tan Dun’s opera TEA was the talk of the town last May
when the Oldenburg Opera presented the German premiere
in a new production by Anke Hoffman. After its rousing
success, Oldenburg added two more performances in June
and is presenting an additional run this month.
On Deutsche Grammophon’s world premiere DVD of TEA, Tan
Dun conducted the NHK Symphony Orchestra and Pierre
Audi directed the production in its October 2002
premiere in Tokyo’s Suntory Hall.
