Mozart's Sister

Composer Alison Bauld’s first novel has just been published. Mozart’s Sister explores the life of Nannerl Mozart who, as a child, had played for the royal courts of Europe with her brother. But in adolescence she was left at home in Salzburg while her father and Mozart lived in Italy.

The novel also features a cameo appearance by the founder of Novello & Co., Vincent Novello. In 1829 he visited the aged Nannerl in Salzburg, presenting her with a gift of 60 guineas from her admirers in England.
