Saariaho and Lindberg at the Konserhuset Stockholm

From 7–14 November 2002 the annual Composer Festival at Stockholm’s Konserthuset will feature the work of Finnish composers Magnus Lindberg and Kaija Saariaho. The festival will open with the world premiere of Saariaho’s Cinq Reflets for soprano, baritone and orchestra, a new work based on the opera L’amour de loin. The opening concert will also include Lindberg’s Piano Concerto with the composer as soloist and Kaija Saariaho’s early orchestral work Du Cristal. The festival encompasses three symphonic concerts in addition to chamber orchestra and ensemble concerts given by the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra Stockholm, Norrköping Symphony Orchestra and Avanti! Under the direction of Esa-Pekka Salonen, Alan Gilbert, Lü Jia, Hannu Lintu and Magnus Lindberg. For further details contact the Konserthuset website.
