The American singer and trombonist Richard Boone had a lot of friends. Both in USA and Denmark. For the last 30 years of his life he lived in Copenhagen, where he married Inga, who after his dead collected memories of him from his friends. Letters, descriptions and pictures. Together with his own living words it was enough to draw a portrait of a popular and inspiring musician and human, who was a great influence to those who made contacts with him.
Several Danish musicians got more attention when playing with Richard Boone than they would have got without him. They became visible in jazz circles even though he was the front figure.
The book is primarily in English with a few Danish comments.
