Acclaimed English composer Edward Gregson considers his Symphony in Two Movements his finest work for brass. It is fitting that the work has received a number of prestigious performances over the past couple of years, including the Black Dyke Band's glorious rendition conducted by Nicholas Childs at the BBC Proms this summer, and a day full of performances of the work as it stood as the test piece for the final of the National Brass Band Finals in October 2025.

The version for symphonic brass and percussion is now receiving further performances across Europe and America before the close of 2026.

In Belgium, a Brass Ensemble made up of leading students from the Royal Conservatoires of Ghent, Brussels and Antwerp give three performances, conducted by renowned brass band conductor Luc Vertommen, in a tribute project to Elgar Howarth titled Resonant Architectures.

October 28 – De Singel – Desguinlei 25 Antwerpen – Witte Zaal – 20h
October 30 – Conservatorium Gent – Miry Concertzaal – Biezekapelstraat 9 Gent – 20h
October 31 – Brussels – MiM (Musical Instruments Museum) – Hofbergstraat 2 – Brussels – 20h

Across the Atlantic, the celebrated Chicago Symphony Orchestra's brass and percussion ensemble will feature the work in their "annual December spectacular" on December 15, conducted by CSO trombonist Michael Mulcahy. The programme, specially tailored to the musicians, shows off the finesse and gleaming power of the ensemble, featuring, as well as Gregson's work, music by Vaughan Williams, Gershwin, Gabrielli and more.
