Throughout the week of 12 August, Thea Musgrave will be featured as BBC Radio 3's Composer of the Week. In the series of five one-hour programmes Donald Macleod will examine some of the many different aspects to Thea's composing career. The programmes will include interviews with the composer, tracks from some of the CDs of her music, as well as some lesser known repertoire specially recorded for the series by the BBC Singers and the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Christopher Austin. The programmes will be broadcast on BBC Radio 3 from 9am-10am GMT, Monday to Friday. Listeners outside the UK can hear them online at the Radio 3 website. This is the second time in recent years that Thea Musgrave has been featured as Composer of the Week, the last time being in May 1998, in celebration of her 70th birthday.
