Hymne an die Nacht by Richard Dünser receives its world premiere performance on November 7 by Ensemble Plus at the ORF Landesfunkhaus Dornbirn, Austria. The work for string trio is an extension of his solo violin piece Aus blauen Fernen and is based on texts by Novalis and Nikolaus Lenau as well as Japanese haiku. The intertwined arrangements of these texts form the basic structure of the music. Dünser says, ‘In this way, the literary metaphors became musical ones, suspended in a new form and dramaturgy, creating a new whole.’

The performance takes place during the texte und töne festival 2026, an initiative by Ensemble Plus, Austrian broadcaster ORF, Symphony Orchestra Vorarlberg and Literaturhaus Vorarlberg for contemporary music and literature.
