Tirol Concerto by Philip Glass in 'Shoot the Moon' at The Royal Ballet

The Royal Ballet presents two Company premieres by Spanish/British choreographers Sol León and Paul Lightfoot.

This stirring mixed programme marks the first time a British company performs the work of the acclaimed contemporary choreographic duo. Shoot the Moon, celebrating its 20th anniversary, explores relationships and the solitude that lies within them. The work is scored with the shifting tonal melodies within the Tirol Concerto for Piano and Orchestra by Philip Glass.

Salle de danse, originally choreographed as a film by Lightfoot during the pandemic in homage to the balletic art form, will now be recreated by the duo as a world premiere for the Company, with music by Ilya Demutsky.

León and Lightfoot's stirring mixed programme will be performed at the Royal Opera House 11–20 June 2026.
