ARCHORA by Anna Thorvaldsdottir will be performed in Spain, Switzerland and Germany.
Iceland Symphony Orchestra and conductor Eva Ollikainen start their Europe tour on March 18 with the Spanish premiere of ARCHORA at the Palau de la musica in Barcelona.
Five concerts follow in renowned concert halls throughout Germany and Switzerland, such as the Tonhalle Zürich where it was performed at the season opening concert in 2024.
ARCHORA is inspired by the notion of a primordial energy and an omnipresent parallel realm, that is both familiar and strange to us. The work revolves around the conflict of the Primordia and its resulting afterglow – a conflict between elements that are one and the same, but are experienced as opposing forces.
