ARCHORA by Anna Thorvaldsdottir will be performed in Switzerland and Germany.

Iceland Symphony Orchestra and conductor Eva Ollikainen start their Europe tour on March 20 with the 40th performance of ARCHORA since its World Premiere in 2022 at the BBC Proms.

Four concerts follow in renowned concert halls throughout Germany and Switzerland, such as the Tonhalle Zürich where it was performed at the season opening concert in 2024.

ARCHORA is inspired by the notion of a primordial energy and an omnipresent parallel realm, that is both familiar and strange to us. The work revolves around the conflict of the Primordia and its resulting afterglow – a conflict between elements that are one and the same, but are experienced as opposing forces.

March 20, Victoria Hall Geneva, Switzerland

March 21, Casino Bern, Switzerland

March 22,  Tonhalle Zurich, Switzerland

March 24, Heidelberger Frühling, Stadthalle Heidelberg, Germany

March 26, Elbphilharmonie Hamburg, Germany
