As part of the 63rd Cuenca Religious Music Week, Change by Fabián Panisello receives its world premiere by Plural Ensemble in Cuenca, Spain. Change is commissioned by the Electroacoustic Music Studio of the Academy of Arts in Berlin for Kontakte Festival 2027, with the support of the Ernst von Siemens Music Foundation.

The work for Noh voice, baritone, electronics and chamber orchestra explores the complex climate situation our planet is currently facing. For this project, Panisello combined original Japanese poetry with essential aspects of the IPCC AR6, the most comprehensive report on climate change.

Change understands those two texts as complementary. They are different in their origin and purpose but both focus on the relationship between humans and life on the planet. Its aim is to provoke thought from an artistic perspective on the necessity of taking large-scale measures at the present moment.
