Edition Peters, part of Wise Music Group, is pleased to announce the signing of a publishing agreement with composer Charlotte Seither.
Seither's oeuvre comprises works for orchestra, chamber music, music theater, and vocal ensemble. She was the first German to win the first prize at the International Composition Competition Prager Frühling (1995). Since then, she has been a guest at international festivals such as Wien Modern, Gaudeamus Amsterdam, and the BBC Proms.
Fellowships led her to the German Academy Villa Massimo in Rome, the Cité des Arts Paris, the German Study Center Venice, Villa Aurora in Los Angeles, and ArtLab Johannesburg.
Next to her work as composer she is actively involved with Germany’s leading cultural institutions. She has been a member of the board of the German Composers' Association (DKV) since 2016 and a member of the executive committee of the German Music Council (DMR) since 2017. She was also a member of the GEMA Supervisory Board (2016-2025). She serves as a juror and curator on international committees. In 2020, she was awarded the Federal Cross of Merit on Ribbon by Minister of State for Culture Monika Grütters.
The publications at Edition Peters include ahnst du for choir, choir of shadows and orchestra. Commissioned for the Centenary of the Studienstiftung des deutschen Volkes (German Academic Scholarship Foundation) it received its world premiere in August 2025 at the anniversary concert in Bruneck, Italy by the Choir and Orchestra of the Music Academy of the Studienstiftung des deutschen Volkes under the baton of Martin Wettges.
