Dame Sarah Connolly has inspired many composers to write works with her expressive artistry in mind. On January 8, 2026 she opens her concert at Wigmore Hall with a new song cycle, Her Kind, composed for her by John Paul Jones (formerly of Led Zeppelin) with text by poets Carol Anne Duffy, Anne Sexton, Maya Angelou and Angela Carter.
The concert which also stars pianist Joseph Middleton and the Britten Sinfonia also features Prayer, a work specially composed for her by Helen Grime, as well as works by Sally Beamish, Judith Bingham among others.
