Roxanna Panufnik’s passionate belief in drawing together different spiritual traditions are apparent in a spectacular new choral work Aurora: Faith in Harmony which has its World Premiere on Sunday, December 7. The City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra will perform the work at Symphony Hall, Birmingham conducted by Michael Seal.

Written in collaboration with Jessica Duchen, a regular writing partner of Panufnik's, this new work celebrates the almost universal symbolism of light banishing darkness, the theme of winter festivals from around the world. For Children’s Chorus, Youth Chorus, Choir and Orchestra the work sets original poems alongside traditional texts, evoking the atmospheres of five festivals from different faiths ending with the finale of the natural phenomenon of the Aurora Borealis.
