On December 6 the Finish Radio Symphony Orchestra and clarinetist Christoffer Sundqvist premiere Sebastian Fagerlund’s Clarinet Concerto No. 2 at Helsinki Music Centre. The concert will be conducted by Nicholas Collon.
For over 20 years Fagerlund and Sundqvist have been connected through a musical partnership that resulted in various works of all different forms, e.g. the first Clarinet Concerto in 2006, the piano trio Fuel in 2010 or Octet ‘Autum Equinox’ in 2016. The music of this latest addition to the collaboration conveys “the joy and inspiration that has been present in our many collaborations”, Fagerlund says.
