World Premiere for Anoushka Shankar at BBC Proms
Anoushka Shankar

Anoushka Shankar is a globally recognised and world-leading performer and composer. She is a singular, genre-defying artist known for breaking new ground across realms. From global and electronic music to jazz and neo-classical, Anoushka’s commitment to wild experimentation and fresh collaboration knows no bounds.

Her three mini-albums, Chapter I: Forever, For Now, Chapter II: How Dark it Is Before Dawn, and Chapter III: We Return to Light have been released in recent years on the Leitur label.

On August 12, 2025, Anoushka returns to the Royal Albert Hall where the BBC Proms presents the world premiere of these deeply personal albums in new symphonic versions, commissioned and specially arranged by Shankar and Robert Ames.

Robert Ames will conduct the London Contemporary Orchestra with Anoushka Shankar as soloist, in what promises to be a beautiful evening.

This new version is commissioned by the BBC Proms, De Singel- Antwerp, Palau de la Música Catalana, Barcelona and the City Chamber Orchestra of Hong Kong.
