Edition Peters, part of Wise Music Group, is delighted to announce the signing of composer, drummer, and visionary musical innovator Lukas Ligeti to its roster.
Known for his groundbreaking work across genres and continents, Ligeti has forged a unique path through contemporary classical music, experimental improvisation, and global collaborations. His compositions – often integrating complex polyrhythms, electronics, and vibrant cross-cultural influences – have earned him international acclaim and performances at major festivals and venues worldwide.
“Lukas Ligeti is an artist whose creativity knows no boundaries,” said Chris Butler, Chairman of Edition Peters Group. “His work embodies a spirit of curiosity and exploration that aligns perfectly with Edition Peters’ mission to champion distinctive and transformative voices. We are thrilled to welcome him to the Peters family and look forward to supporting the next chapters of his remarkable career.”
Lukas Ligeti’s music reflects a profound engagement with diverse traditions, from European avant-garde to African rhythms, mirroring his experiences living and working extensively in New York, Europe, and Africa. His oeuvre includes orchestral works, chamber music, electronic compositions, and pieces for his own ensembles.
He is currently Professor of Composition at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels.
Speaking about the partnership, Lukas Ligeti said, “Edition Peters has a remarkable legacy of fostering pioneers of experimental music who have changed the course of music history. I’m excited to join this tradition and look forward to working closely with the team as we bring my music to new audiences around the world.”
