Sallinen Symphonic Cycle

cpo, one of the most adventurous independent classical labels, is about to embark on a 5-CD series of symphonic works by Aulis Sallinen. The Finnish conductor Ari Rasilainen will conduct the Norrköping Symphony Orchestra and the Staatsphilharmonie Rheinland Pfalz in Ludwigshafen. The recording sessions will begin on 25 June 2002 with Symphony No 1, Symphony No 7,A Solemn Overture from King Lear, and Chorali.
