After its acclaimed performances at the Théâtre du Châtelet in Paris, Kaija Saariaho’s L’amour de loin will receive its American Premiere on 27 July 2002 at Santa Fe Opera. Under the direction of Peter Sellars, Dawn Upshaw reprises her role as Clémence, Gerald Finley is Jaufré Rudel and Monica Groop, Le Pelerin. Robert Spano will conduct all three performances in Santa Fe as well as the UK premiere in a concert performance at the Barbican on 21 November 2002.
