OBE for Kató Havas
Bosworth author Kató Havas has been awarded an O.B.E. in The Queen’s Birthday Honours List for "services to music”. A New Approach to Violin Playing and Stage Fright have so far been translated into Czech, French, German, Hungarian, Italian, Japanese, Mandarin Chinese, Spanish and Swedish and her teaching method has been adopted by the Suzuki Society of America. Miss Havas, who studied under Imre Wildbauer at the Budapest Music Academy, gave her debut recital at Carnegie Hall when she was 17. She has been resident in Britain since the 1950s and was founder and director of the influential Purbeck and Roehampton Music Festivals.
