The Asia Pacific region (APAC) welcomes Akram Kahn’s 'Jungle Book reimagined' featuring the orchestral composition Jungle Book Reimagined, a work based on the story by Rudyard Kipling with an original score by Jocelyn Pook. 'Jungle Book reimagined' will be performed across APAC before heading to Latvia, Switzerland and Germany.

Jocelyn Pook is one of Wise Music’s most versatile composers having written extensively for stage, screen, opera house and concert hall. Her passion for the environment shines through in this score.

“Jungle Book reimagined feels like a blockbuster cinematic experience with a powerful message for us all. It is truly exceptional” - The Stage

Audiences from Australia, New Zealand and Singapore can revel in a new telling of Kipling’s famous story. Akram Khan has reinterpreted Kipling’s story through the lens of today’s children – those who will inherit our planet and become future storytellers.

Embedded in Kipling’s original story is the deep threat that mankind poses towards nature. Akram Kahn presents the world through the eyes of a refugee caught in a planet devastated by the impact of climate change. Mowgli tells us to listen again, to the natural environment that the modern world tries to silence. Jungle Book Reimagined speaks to all generations to reimagine a new world together.
